On thing that I’ve learned. And thinking about and writing about hte Death Penalty has really helped with this… Is that people who really think about things can see validity even where they don’t expect it. It really is the hardest possible thing to think about how it feels to not have the values that we were born with.
We’re on a different plane about the death penalty that we were when I was young. America is good at that. We have major moodswings, sometimes in the right direction.
Just look at that chart. Even the people at the top of the law enforcement ladder consider the importance of capital punishment from all angles.
