Gov. Richardson in front of the coloseum, lit with gold light

Since 1999 the Colosseum in Rome has been lit up gold in celebration every time someone on death row anywhere in the world has their sentence commuted or any time any place abolishes the death penalty.
Last weekish Governor Richardson of New Mexico traveled with Archbishop Michael Sheehan to Rome to be on hand for the lighting up of the Colosseum, ancient symbol of capitol punishment.
NM Repeal Exec, Director Viki Elkey was on hand and kept the movement up to date via twitter and on her blog. It was an historic moment for us all.
